HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is assessed through a combination of theory and practical demonstrations to ensure comprehensive skills acquisition. Methods include:

Hands-on demonstration of CPR techniques, rescue breathing, and AED usage on manikins, evaluated by a qualified trainer.
Simulation of real-life emergencies where participants must identify hazards, apply the DRSABCD approach, and deliver effective CPR and defibrillation.
HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is a nationally recognised unit of competency under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Upon successful completion of all assessments, you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment in HLTAID009.
This certification remains valid for 12 months, aligning with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) recommendations, after which a refresher course is recommended to maintain current skills.
For your comfort and safety during clinical training, please bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated throughout the session. We also recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and flat, closed-toe shoes. Practical components of the course, including CPR, require physical movement such as kneeling on the floor and performing chest compressions, so attire that allows for ease of movement is essential.
Typically runs for 3 hours in total, However, actual completion times may vary depending on individual learning and pre-existing knowledge.
