Welcoming the Next Generation of Maritime Professionals
Serco Defence Marine Site Manager, Adam Brown, has officially welcomed the latest recruits to Serco’s maritime team, marking an exciting new chapter for both the individuals and the organisation.
Liam Murphy and Jack Sullivan have commenced their journey as part of Serco’s two-year Maritime Traineeship Program. Over the course of the program, they will gain valuable hands-on experience across key marine operations while working toward the nationally recognised Certificate III in Maritime Operations, delivered through Serco’s Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
This initiative reflects Serco’s ongoing commitment to investing in people and developing a skilled workforce to support Australia’s sovereign maritime capability. The structured blend of real-world learning and formal training ensures that trainees not only build practical knowledge but are also fully equipped with the technical competencies required in today’s dynamic maritime environment.
Adam Brown highlighted the significance of the program, stating, “This traineeship is more than just a learning pathway — it’s a gateway into a rewarding maritime career. We’re proud to support Liam and Jack as they take their first steps into the industry.”
With safety, leadership, and technical excellence at the core of the program, the Maritime Traineeship plays a vital role in shaping the future of Serco’s marine operations. It’s part of a broader strategy to build sustainable career pathways, ensuring Serco continues to deliver service excellence to its defence partners and the nation.
Welcome aboard, Liam and Jack — we look forward to seeing you grow, succeed, and lead the way.
