Biography

Sharnie Burton is a registered nurse and clinical educator with a decade of experience spanning acute care, Defence health services and vocational education. As Training Coordinator (Health) within Serco’s Registered Training Organisation, she oversees the coordination, delivery and continuous improvement of nationally recognised health training programs supporting the Australian Defence Force Health Services Contract.

Known for her depth of clinical knowledge and contemporary teaching practice, Sharnie has developed and facilitated CPR, first aid, venepuncture and cannulation training across multiple Defence sites. Her expertise lies in translating evidence-based practice into engaging, practice-ready learning that enhances clinician capability and confidence.

Sharnie’s work focuses on ensuring strategic alignment between training initiatives and operational priorities, maintaining RTO compliance and fostering a culture of mentorship and continuous learning among Serco’s health trainers. She is recognised for her strong leadership, attention to detail and commitment to creating education that is both meaningful and measurable in its impact on patient care and workforce readiness.
