At Serco, we understand that starting a new course should be an exciting step, not a frustrating hurdle. That’s why DMS Maritime will proudly host its inaugural internal VET Conference, a milestone moment that will bring together educators, trainers, and staff from across our vocational education and training community.
The conference held under the beautiful backdrop of Sydney Harbor, will create a dynamic space for sharing ideas, building collaboration, and driving innovation in how we prepare learners for the future world of work.
From the opening keynote, to practical breakout sessions and forward focused panel discussions, the two days will be rich with insight and energy. Topics ranged from digital transformation in the classroom to rethinking industry engagement and embedding learner wellbeing into every training journey.
“This conference wasn’t just about ideas—it was about building the future of VET at Serco from the inside out,” said Jessica McKirkle, Senior Manager Learning Solutions.
Participants will engage in hands-on workshops, shared real-world teaching strategies, and reflected on how we, as a VET community, can continue delivering meaningful, future-ready training for all.
The event also marked the launch of several new internal initiatives designed to strengthen collaboration and professional growth across our VET network.
As Serco continues to lead in vocational education, the success of this inaugural conference sets the tone for what’s next: a united, learner-focused approach that embraces innovation and impact.
