The HLTAID015 Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy course is designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge required to manage life-threatening medical emergencies effectively. This course goes beyond basic first aid, focusing on advanced resuscitation techniques, the use of oxygen therapy, and the operation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Participants will learn how to perform advanced resuscitation in critical situations, such as cardiac arrest and respiratory distress, and understand how to administer oxygen therapy to stabilise casualties until medical professionals arrive.

  • Advanced Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR): Learn how to perform high-quality CPR on adults, children, and infants, including chest compressions and rescue breaths.
  • Oxygen Therapy: Gain practical skills in administering oxygen using appropriate devices and techniques, including when and how to apply it in emergency situations.
  • AED Usage: Be trained in the use of Automated External Defibrillators to provide timely and life-saving shocks to individuals in cardiac arrest.
  • Airway Management: Learn techniques to clear and manage the airway, ensuring proper ventilation during medical emergencies.

    • Must be at least 16 years old.

    • Must be capable of performing practical demonstrations, including 2 minutes of continuous CPR compressions on the floor and rescue breathing on manikins.

    • For the online or pre-course component, participants should have reliable access to a computer, desktop, smartphone, tablet, or other internet-enabled device. A computer or desktop is recommended for the best learning experience.
