This course is open to healthcare clinicians who hold current AHPRA registration.

To ensure the course is relevant and immediately applicable, participants must also be currently employed in a clinical setting. This allows for workplace based application and contextualisation of learning, linking theory directly to your day-to-day practice.

To enrol in this course, participants must meet the following prerequisites:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Endorsed Nurse

  • Active employment in a clinical setting, to allow for contextualisation of learning and workplace-based assessment

  • Access to a qualified clinical supervisor or workplace mentor, who can oversee practical activities and sign off on competency where required

  • Basic computer literacy and internet access to complete eLearning modules and online assessments

  • Working knowledge of infection control, manual handling, and basic life support (these may be refreshed or built upon within the course depending on the units included)

If you have relevant nursing experience or qualifications, you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Our team will support you through the simple RPL process, which includes submitting evidence of your experience and competencies.

The duration of the course varies depending on your study mode and individual learning pace. Typically, the practical (face-to-face) component is completed in one day, while the eLearning and assessment components are designed to be completed over a period of 3 to 6 months depending on the units you choose.
