The CHCSS00113 Crisis Support Skill Set provides the essential knowledge and practical skills to respond effectively to people experiencing crisis situations. You’ll learn how to recognise signs of distress, communicate with empathy, apply trauma informed approaches, and take action to increase immediate safety. The course also covers strategies for managing personal wellbeing when supporting others. This nationally recognised skill set includes the following units: CHCCCS019 – Recognise and respond to crisis situations CHCCCS003 – Increase the safety of individuals at risk of suicide CHCCCS028 – Provide client-centred support to people in crisis Ideal for community and health support workers, helpline operators, educators, youth workers, and first responders who may be the first point of contact for people in distress.
